If you don't have the time or the money for psychoanalysis, there's modern CBT. Based on the ancient Buddhist tradition of "minding your p's and q's," Cognitive Behavioral Therapy cares less about why you are the way you are. Developed in Pennsylvania during stressful World War Two and the Gulf War, CBT says, "Use your head and snap out of it—by paying attention to where you are and what you're doing." Like other psychologists, the author writes books and workbooks to help cure the troubled masses without the use of drugs

This book is simple and straightforward. It's great that you can skip chapters if they don't pertain to what you're working on. I haven't finished it yet, but it's so far been very helpful. Worth checking out if you're working on yourself and want a clear-cut depiction of how to do it.

A beautiful, profound and poetic tale of a parent's love for their child. It tells about how a parent and child see time differently. However, they can still enjoy a beautiful moment together. This is a picture book with lovely illustrations that goes along perfectly with this story.

If you suffer from anxiety or depression or know someone who does, this book is very helpful. If nothing more, it gives you the questions to ask in guiding someone you are supporting. The idea is behavior, emotions and thoughts are all connected. Controlling the thoughts, we can control the other two. Of course I should say this should not replace a professional, but it helps everyone.

This is a great book to help anyone who struggles with or just needs a boost with concentration. It helps show 1 task at a time will get the task done faster & better then if you multi Task. It gives multiple techniques, multiple examples, multiple ways to help with organization, goal setting, &concentration. Whether it is to help you, a family member, a patient, a a friend, or a spouse I recommend this book, you can read it cover to cover or skip around different chapters, it works both ways.

This book helped me to overcome my anxiety, plain and simple. CBT has become the major mental component in my heart-health journey. Living with angina ain't easy, but CBT Made Simple has made my life life much less stressful, which has been key to reducing pain and panic. The book was recommended by my therapist, and now I'm going to go ahead and recommend it to you.

Amazing, useful, helpful.....I cannot explain enough how this book helped. My advice is get a notebook to answer the questions, take notes, and write down thouhts. That helped me realize new perspectives to what's going on and what I can do. I suffer from medical anxiety horribly. Just a week before I got the book, I had my worst attack to date. Since I have finished the book, I haven't had an attack yet.im not 'cured', but I'm not suffering anymore either! I use the tools that were given to help me regulate. I want to hug the author and thank him!!

Very readable and I started treating myself right away after the first few chapters. It is an excellent layman treatise on the subject. Finally I know what CBT is and I can use it on my patients and on myself. Now I give myself more permission to turn negative experiences in my life into a positive power that helps me grow and see the good in all that happens to me. Seriously. But you need to want to be positive. Life is hard and I can see how some of us may not want to get over a passive negative
pessimistic state.
